An Exclusive 4-Course Dinner featuring the wines of Zenato
The Soul of Lugana and the Heart of Valpolicella.
WineAlign is pleased to invite you to an exclusive dinner featuring the wines of Zenato at Carisma’s new location on Monday, November 5th. Alberto Zenato and our own Michael Godel will join you to guide you through this wine and culinary evening. Enjoy a range of Zenato’s wines including delicious whites from Lugana, Ripassos and classic Amarones from the heart of Valpolicella.
The Zenato family and their wines have been a benchmark in the Veneto region, which has a long cultural and historical tradition in quality Italian winemaking. Zenato possesses a strong link to the richness of its local history and culture. The family is avid in their dedication, through rigorous research and innovation, which translates in the continued development expressed in their wines. The estate is based in a territory that surrounds Lake Garda, an area with an extraordinary microclimate that allows for an optimal growing season. Besides being the protagonists of the Ripasso Renaissance, which is epitomized through their iconic Ripassa, another of Zenato’s claims to fame includes putting the white wine appellation Lugana on the map. Zenato produces wines that transcend both classic and modern styles continuously offering a mix of popular appeal, their passion of the vine and a clearly evident winemaking expertise.

About Alberto Zenato:
Alberto Zenato lives on Lake Garda in the province of Verona in San Benedetto di Lugana, the town in which he grew up and where his family wine-growing business is located.
Alberto’s life has always been intimately linked to the wine world. He was exposed to it from an early age when, as a child, he would follow his father, Sergio, up and down the rows of vines until his initial curiosity grew into a passion that has become his life’s work.
As soon as he finished his studies, he immediately went to work full-time on the estate. Given his training, he was put in charge of the accounts, but he also dealt with the sales and production side of the business. All this was many years ago now and today the role Alberto plays represents the wealth of diverse experiences he has accumulated over the years, experiences that have given him an in-depth knowledge of each phase of the wine-producing process from the vineyard to the bottle. Today, he focuses his energies on managing the estate and developing two extremely different if synergic areas of the business. One is production, which ranges from managing the cellar right through to the bottling stage. Here, is where his father, Sergio – one of the leading lights in the Veronese wine world – offered him constant inspiration and guidance. The other area is business strategy development, where he is responsible for sales to a range of overseas markets, including Europe, Canada and Scandinavia. Alberto has no doubts that he made the right choice. Today he loves his work more than ever and one day aspires to pass on all his experience to his son, just as his father did before him, so that the family passion for wine will live on in future generations.
