Chalk Hill Estate Red 2011, Chalk Hill, Sonoma County
Assemblage rouge
Californie, États-Unis
79,95 $ (330225)
A departure from the normally cabernet-based estate blend from Chalk Hill, the 2011 is nearly half malbec with 1/4 cabernet sauvignon, equal parts petit verdot and syrah, and a splash of carmenere. Malbec does indeed lead the aromatics with it's floral-violet note and candied black fruit, filled in with succulent red berries and considerable chocolate-tinged oak influence. Very good length. A solid and satisfying wine, well balanced, even with close to 15% alcohol. For fans of big and bold wines. Tasted January 2015. J. Szabo (WineAlign.com)Les notes des chroniqueurs (1)
