...Dark red-garnet in colour, the 2005 Brunello displays terrifically intrinsic/intriguing aromas of ‘warm’ brownies and saddle leather at the outset; giving way to wild cherries, red fruits, undergrowth, smoke, seasalt traces, mild cedarwood, and spice. Very complex, with beautiful, characterful fruit, very firm tannins, balanced acidity, and a wonderful hint of dried cherries, leather, and ‘warm’ brownies on the finish. Traditional in some respects, modern in others (ex. French oak); exceptional wine in any eventuality. Now-2022++. Score: 92 (Julian Hitner, www.WineAlign.com, Sept 2011)
