...the 2000 Château Pipeau has now reached its peak, though it has plenty of years left. Dark-opaque ruby in colour (no doubt from good cellaring), it offers superlative aromas of mocha, cherry-infused currants and plums, pain grille, wild game, loamy earth, forest floor, and a hint of tobacco and spice. Complex, delivering excellent fruit, beautifully integrated tannins, balanced acidity, and a chewy, robust hint of subtle mocha and tobacco-themed currants on the finish.
